The Jacksons Abroad

We said goodbye to Cottage Petra this morning and have made it to the last stop of our trip… Northern Italy and Lake Como…the sleepy village of Laglio and the Villa Negri. We have begun a week - long UNO game… may the best ” man” win! Abigail happened to see a black spider on the black kitchen tile…the consensus was scorpion…Doug bravely squished it and scraped it up…we continued playing UNO..what could we do? The game must go on! We are aggressively looking for a George Clooney sighting…we would like to invite him over for dinner (or at least drinks) this week…we think he’ s just down the street…George, if you’re following this blog, CALL US!!!

Doug was in heaven at lunch in Portofina, the “Riviera” of the northern Mediterranean!!

We have made it to Tuscany… and Cottage Petra is everything we hoped for….olive trees, vineyards, beautiful scenery and seemingly endless bottles of Chianti! We happened on our first Italian mall Sunday, picked up some groceries and Chef Emily treated us to a fabulous dinner of pasta with Italian sausage…complete with Skip-Bo between courses! We had lunch in Sienna today, people watching at a cafe on the “Il Campo.” And then back to the cottage for some COLD swimming…gosh, guess more of the same tomorrow!

Ok, ok…no more Roman ruins and Vatican art…we’ll take you to an Italian villa!!
